Summer Distance Running
Summer
distance running is a lot like climbing a mountain. The more you climb, the better you get.
There is no doubt that each time a person climbs, it is not easy. But after each climb a person
becomes smarter, more efficient and increasingly physically fit to do the task at a moments notice. Many
of our fears of distance running can be solved over the summertime. If they are, the mountains you climb
in the fall will be easier and the end result will be much more satisfying.
In this
world there are two types of people, leaders and followers. The world is full of followers while there are only a small
percentage of leaders. It is most difficult to be that leader but much more rewarding. Take the path less traveled
and be one of those someone who takes on a task at full throttle. Passion is something you are not born with but something
that you develop deep down inside. It is something that cannot be measured or calculated. It comes from within
the athlete and shows to everyone during practices, meets and in everyday life.
The Man Who Thinks He Can
If you think you are beaten, you are; If you think you dare not, you don’t;
If you want to win but you think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost;
For in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s
will,
It’s all
in the state of mind.
For many a race is lost
Before a step has been run,
And many a coward fails;
Think big and your deeds will grow,
Think small and you will fall behind;
Think that you can and you will—
It’s all in the state of mind
If you think you’re outclassed, you are,
You’ve got to think high to
rise,
You’ve
got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win the prize
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or fastest man,
Bout sooner or later the man who wins,
Is the fellow who thinks he can.
If it is worth doing at all, it is worth doing well!!!
We want to surpass whatever we have accomplished in the past on our way to a
great season!!!
Good Luck!
